So I received my machine today...
Here are my impressions:
1) The box was in good shape on the outside, the inside of the box was in a bit of disarray. The box with the accessories was partially open and the CDs had actually fallen out in the box... So I went fishing.. No doubt UPS had some fun with my delivery.
2) After inspecting everything, it looked good... Aside from a small strange dent in one of my side panels, everything looked good.
3) I am oc'd to 2.7Ghz, and the rig seems to be running great. No problems so far with Vista 64 bit - It installed everything I had quite easily.
4) I added an extra harddisk from my old computer so I dont have to transfer the data. That was relatively easy to do.
5) DS included alot of extra stuff I am guessing that came with my hardware.... What would have been kool to get a DS mouse pad, but who uses a mouse pad anymore anyways.
6) Its quiet... The machine is almost silent... The only thing is the hard disk seems to spin up a little bit more than I would like.. who knows why.. Vista?
My issues:
1) I was expecting to get a aluminum plate stuck to the sdide of my machine with the DS logo... Dont have one on there
2) While installing the hard disk, the wiring was neatly tucked away but was occupying the empty slots. I had to undue some of it just to get the drive in there.
------- Thats pretty much it.. I am still playing.. It took me a while to get up and start playing around. Tomorrow I will test the media card reader and games hopefully..
So far I would recommend DS to anyone.. Actually I have already done so... My experience thus far has been excellent.
The hard disk seems to be spinning up quite a bit... No idea why though...
I will post some pics tomorrow.

Congratulation
![]() 1) I was expecting to get a aluminum plate stuck to the sdide of my machine with the DS logo... Dont have one on there I don't think DS will put the logo on the side, mine is in front. 2) While installing the hard disk, the wiring was neatly tucked away but was occupying the empty slots. I had to undue some of it just to get the drive in there. Yes, I have the same issue too. Look like DS did too good of the job. |

Glad to hear everything is running great. 1. Dent on side panel: If the dent or ding is bothering you, let us know, that seems awkward. We can work out something to replacement the side panel if you wish.
2. Hard drive activity: Must be Vista's indexing service. Disable it in the control panel if you want to get rid of it. Or, let your computer sit for a while, it will finish over time.
3. Cables: We have to hide the cables somewhere. It should be easy enough to move them away.
4. Name plate: We don't put them on the side, it depends on what case you have as well.

Other than that, start enjoying your machine and catch us on the Digital Storm Gaming Servers.

Hard drive spin seems to have calmed down for now... Dont really care about the ding in the side.. I actually think it was caused by forcing the panel on... the ding is facing outward. I have the lite case... I guess that doesnt come with an aluminum plate... You should def put on on all your rigs.. That would be kool.. No biggie though.
I love the integrated media card reader... It makes image transfer so easy...
Have to wait on the pics.. Th emax size for upload is 200k.... ughh :)
