Just got my New lappy, some information for buyers

Ok.... So I read around the internet quite a bit and i decided I would put my lot in with Digital storm because well... I heard nothing grossly bad.... Some companies you just hear terrible terrible things... Digital storm... generally good things.... everywhere...
 
The reason I wanted a new computer, a laptop to be specific was my current video game Rift.... I have a two  year old HP with a 4650 mobility radeon graphics card.... While in gameplay I would lag out frankly everywhere, loading screens in town, invasions were a joke at the final boss, battle grounds....psh I could only do two, the ones with the lowest group numbers... It was really really annoying
 
Ok I'm not rich.... this is an important point. Some of these computers on here I am sure are fantastic but they are clearly out of my price range. Like most people, once you start pushing above 1K, it starts burning a deep hole in your pocket.
 
I did lots of research on video cards, I was honestly kinda stuck between the 560 and the 555M... two hundredish bucks separated them.... I wnet with the cheaper one. You know, being financially responsible and all...
 
Today after a brief wait ( ehhh 3ish weeks)... my laptop was delivered!!!
 
So remember back up at the top where I talked about Rift and how at low resolution I was rocking lag in town... those days are over
 
Initially it still had me at low settings, but now... 90+ fps, no lagging in town
 
Skip up to medium.... still 60ish fps, what, the sky has clouds, and the ground has actual texture
 
ULTRA!!! like 40-50 fps, I can see everything from here, I can literally see the entire landmass if i get high enough, everything is soooo pretty, manly tear, manly tear.... cept with huge invasions and it drops to 30's ( I am not sure about this at all times but I only have limited experience and wanted to help people get an idea of what to expect)... still no appreciable lag
 
 
So clearly this has increased the visuals of my game, great FPS, and ummmm I just ganked a bunch of guardians during an invasion cause i'm pretty sure they were lagging... and well now i'm not at all...
 
 
So thank you much Digital Storm. I am now a very very happy fella who has a computer that runs my game waaaaaaaaayyy better than I have ever ran it, PLUS I didn't have to buy the most expensive laptop, which I appreciate as well.
 
Maybe here in 4-5 years when I do have that nice paying job, I'll grab a Desktop off, at that time it'll be the geforce GTXXX 1500 Qaud SLI 40gb and we'll all be palying our virtual worlds.....

Cool to hear things are working out for you but there are some things you can probably tweak for your Ultra settings to improve your performance. Just turn down some key resource hogs while maintaining the pretty visuals. Lower things like AA and AF, also things like shadow quality and draw distance. Rift may not call it "draw distance" but there will be some setting like that. If you turn those things down but keep your other textures high/ultra you should see better game play.
