I just wanted to send out Greetings to all here!

I am joining the Digital Storm Family, just placed my order today and feeling some heartburn as for some reason my primary e-mail seems to be FUBAR when it comes to receiving messages from DSO...

So I get to have my first taste of their customer service before I even put my credit card back in my wallet...

Left them a message on their CS tool widget thingy, will see how it goes.

Welcome to the family!

I would recommend getting a gmail account as I had the same problem as you with my comcast email.  Once I switched my profile to my gmail account I no longer had any problems getting emails.

That is how I am registered here on the forums, my g-mail account.

I just do not know how to change my order so the e-mail is my g-mail account :) Thus, a CS question! :)

Thanks for the confirmation I am not insane (I am a Comcast prisoner also)

I called and got everything cleared up... ended up dinging up my rig a couple of bumps too... guess I was trying to cheap out in the wrong places....

Looks like Going Pretty Killer Overall - At least for me... Some of you it seems sunk serious amounts of clams, as well as scallops and shrimp into your rigs... But I hope mine will do well.

I do home video editing, music editing, some video post processing work, but mostly I love games. I just wanted to get something that had some kicking specs without spending a fortune and some future proofing built in due to a quality set of basics... I hope this rig will serve me well for several years without changes to hardware, and maybe sneak in a few more with hardware upgrades.

I love the specs that is for sure.

I mean coming off of an old first gen dual core running at 2.1 Ghz on an old HP OEM MB, with an upgraded 430 watt PSU so I could run my 8600 GTS graphics card, I am ready for a change :)

Woo Hoo jumped to Stage 4 today, yay... my hardware survived its initial stress testing a good sign in my book... now if it can simply survive, assembly, burn in, qa inspection and shipping I will be one happy camper in Computer Nerdvana.

Yeah. I wouldn't be concerned if it does go to "Stage T."

It just means we found something we didn't like and we want to ensure you get a solid high quality product.

Yea, my computer failed the second round of testing. =(. So now they gotta go back and figure out whats screwing up, fix it, and re-test and hopefully pass. So basically its like going back to the end of the line and doing it over lol.

Then again...its my fault for ordering a 790i after all the wonky stuff ive heard about it, Plus the memory selection DS uses actually isnt yet approved for us on the 790i. I used 1333 Corsair, and as you can see from this EVGA approved list, it isnt on it. Im not saying thats the problem, but its something i noticed AFTER i ordered, so its my fault really.

I think the only oddball thing I picked was a large memory footprint. Just me and my desire to be able to better do my video editing... I was putting together the post processing on some of my home movies with my Pinnacle suite that came with my dazzle video device that lets me pull in my old video tapes of home movies... and I would spend all day with the hard drive thrashing and pinnacle eating 3 or 4 gigs of memory as it tried to apply my post process effects to my video :) so I figured, I would double my memory, my current computer has 4 gigs (3.6 available after windows and my 256 meg 8600 GTS video card).

I am hoping I will be able to edit and create my movies for my family quicker and easier with this new PC :)

I havent gotten any info on whats wrong with it yet..though im assuming its the 790i because well...even though i bought it, from what ive read on various EVGA forums and other forums, its a piece of crap with a failure rate in the high 40s % range.

That's why you have us to iron out the issues and test the system before it ships. Smile

Did I mention your system comes with a 3 year warranty and life-time support? WoW Cool

I have heard that the 790 (as well as the 790 mobos) are having some issues.  However, I would take anything said on the EVGA forums in regards to failure rate with a grain of salt.  Since those folks have absolutely no clue as to how many 790 boards have actually been sold or returned I would like to know / understand the logic behind their determination of a failure rate.

I'm not saying the 790 does not have issues, because it does.  Playing vidoes in SLI mode generally leads to your rig freezing up and requires a hard reboot.  There has been speculation that this is a codec issue.  Personally, until it is resolved I simply turn off SLI when watching videos and I haven't had a problem.  I'm sure at some point the problem will be fixed.

My girlfriend has a DSO rig with the 780 board and she started experiencing the video issue while SLI was engaged.

Yea, i assume the failure rates are inflated, its definally higher then it should be though.

I thought of a question though, hopefully Alex can answer it. Does this weekend team youve spoke of before, do they also work on Stage T computers or do they work on RMAs only during the weekend? Serious question! I gotta know if i should count the weekend days as 'business' days since my computer was getting worked on if thats what they do. (I have to keep track of this for reasons i cant talk about)
