My daughter has a Toshiba Satellite C655 laptop.  For some reason the keyboard does not type the letters that are pressed.  Sometime a letter and character are typed at the same time.  The back space does not remove a letter but goes a page back on the internet.

It runs on Win 7 home prem.  Is there a keyboard mapper that can be set to default or something?

Thanks

A re-install of Windows might be a good idea to try first, if that does not fix the issue, the keyboard may have gone bad.

Just for the heck of it....go to Control Panel and hit "Ease of Access Center", then hit "Make the keyboard easier to use" , then make sure all the boxes are unchecked. Crazy....but I've seen programs change those settings.

Or it could be that moisture got into the computer due to a spill or perhaps condensation of some kind. Happened to me on an old Tosh. My fingers were wet from a glass of something and that's all it took for the system to go wonky. Had to replace the motherboard too.

Unfortunately, it only had a short (1-yr) warranty. Lotsa expense, though cheaper than buying a new system.
