I was orginally going to get this in my system and Josh recommended against it.   Anyone have experience with this card, any thoughts?

I've read a lot about how it really benefits WOW/MMORPG players, which I am, so I'm thinking it may still be worthwhile.

It does what it claims about as good as possible.

Most of lag isn't server side, and most games aren't processor bound.

If you happen to be processor bound, then you will get  a few fps out of it, and overall lag will reduce by about 5ms.

This is from a dozen or so reviews I read over the past few years...going off memory....

Yeah.. I've heard the card isn't really worth it unless you a) have money to blow or b) are playing on a heavily trafficed network such as with university or college.

Thanks for the replies.

MarkNY, how's Vista Ultimate 64 bit running on your system?  Pretty stable?

Thanks.

It's okay.  I originally ordered my machine with Windows XP Pro and it was a little bit more stable.  I used XP for about 2 months and then switched to vista 64 only b/c I wanted to try DX 10.

For the most part vista works well enough. I have noticed that it crashes about 30 percent of the time after waking up from standby or the mouse and keyboard are unresponsive and I need to reboot.  I also can't get Crysis to run at all with vista 64.  Both of these issues were nonexistant on XP.

Other than those issues, I haven't encountered any problems.

As a side note, other games like Oblivion, WoW, Orange Box all run great (I can't tell a performance difference).

I would say go with dual boot if you can, or only vista 64 if you want to save money.
