Ive heard great things about this card. But not sure if I should upgrade for I hear it isnt worth it, so im confused lol. I just have the basic card I guess and intrested in any opinions you guys can share with me.
You may strike me down, but I will become more powerfull than you can possibly imagine.

Definitely not worth $288 for anyone not spending $4000 on a computer. Pings shouldn't be a problem today unless you are still using dial-up.
The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star.

My opinion is that it is only worth it if you download a lot on the Bittorent network. It's claim to fame is that it has an integrated 400MHz processor which sounds very nice for having 100+ torrents downloading at once. But for that you would need T1/T3/Good Fiber..... I never plan on using one lol.

the card is like the physx card... it has it's pro's and con's.  To me, when all the smoke settles and at the end of the day, it's a network card.  And I am not paying 2-300 dollars for a network card.
Here's a cheap alternative... go on craigslist and get a p2 computer for like... free.  Then, load a linux firewall on it.  Set it up as a DHCP server and connect it to a hub.  Hook your gaming system to that and voila!  An ugly, but free external Killer Nic.  :-P
 
But again, it's one of those things that is for the elitist and bleeding edge'er.  It does a great job at what it supposed to do, but again,  It's a network card.  A $300 network card.

i think they butched it because we are talking about a network card not a torrent down loader and all that they over killed it on features i think.
