laptop action!

Hi all!  Happy to be here :)  Going from a 4-5 year old custom built 20" monster of an XtremeNotebook laptop that was top of the line then............it's just about that time to get back into the thick of things, and since MOBILITY is my PREFERENCE, please feel free to chime in with your opinions and concerns............whilst I try and get my finances in order :)

proposed configuration:

(Note:  I chose this model over the x17E because of the newer Sandy Bridge processor, in my eyes being more future proof, even though the attraction of dual video cards isn't left unnoticed!)

1)Using the lappie primarily for gaming only(mmo's like possible Star Wars, maybe WoW if i don't cancel that entirely, Age of Conan.........possibly even Batman Arkham City!), where are the games getting installed on?  I understand windows 7, my spysweeper and my anti-virus will go on the SSD.....which then leaves the games to go onto the HDD?  In doing that though, they will not benefit from the load times right?

2)with new gpus on the horizon, although nvidia a bit behind amd(and mobile versions even further behind at that!).....is it something worthwhile to WAIT for said hardware and technology to be present to be built in the laptops, or fret not...........and take the plunge now??  I mention this, because I awknowledge that laptops are not as upgradable-friendly as their bigger brother in Desktops....

right....now I'm obsessing over the dual video card configuration that the x17E can provide(specifically 2x gtx580m's sli)....grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I just wish a newer cpu was out for that model, which could hold more efficient RAM as well.....

Aside from this, with the 120gb SSD boot, and the presumed 750 HDD secondary.........(which would be similar in desktop selection I'd imagine minus HDD size)....do I install the games on the hard drive or what?  I've never had the pleasure of working with an SSD....;)

The waiting game....is.......for PATIENT, logically SOUND people, c'mon!!!  *smirk*  Hehe ;)  But you have a point for sure..........not only for the cards, but for that possible extreme processor too!

And I enjoy your suggestion as well, 'downgrading' if you will to the xm15(or x15 to make use of the premium gpus) with the inclusion of an external hard drive to go w/ the SSD boot.  Not sure why I didn't think of that option........great idea :)  The more competent battery power is always attractive..................but for me, being on a TWENTY INCH monster of a lappie right now..........let's be honest.........screen size is important for me ;) Especially since I don't game on desktops!  I'm sure the weight-less-ness of the x15 would be refreshing over, compared to the x17(x17E) and my present one..........

580m SLI though, man-o-man...............I think if there was a newer processor, and all my finances were in order..........I'd pull that trigger now!

Heck yeah!  This both gives me great ENTHUSIASTIC HOPE and DESPAIR, because now I have to wait...ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!  Hehe, but I THANK YOU for bringing this to my attention...........I sped on off to google those articles up and sucked out the information that I could on the new Ivy Bridge technology approaching(April)..................ideally, if Nvidia could play ball around that time period..............that........would.......MAYBE lesson the pain :)
