I'll stick to the recommended conventions for simplicity.
Thanks in advance xp Budget: I'm planning on spending approximately 1500 dollars, 1700 maximum but I'm gunning for 1500... It's a bit of graduation money and a most of my savings. Expectations: I know a little bit about computers, and im going to college this fall for computer science, but i essentially want something that can play a game like guild wars 2 (definitly) on high or best settings. I dont have a dedicated GPU in this laptop, and it isnt even able to run minecraft or runescape (the latter I attempted to prove to a friend this thing is junky lol). I also need a pretty decent amount of RAM because i am going to be making alot of movies in my spare time up at school, as well as the multitasking i do, this computer cant have 3 windows open without slowing down to near a dead stop. I also think from research a need a quad core processor for the editing and gaming i want to do. Usage: Kinda filled this with the last expectations thing, but i really need a computer that i can take to class with me, as well as a computer that i can plug in and game on. I'm not a big gamer on the go, most of the time when i play games my computers are plugged in, laptop or desktop (obviously). I was looking at the alienware laptops, but after reading about all of Digital Storm's great reviews, and the huge helpful community, i decided to switch over. This was after like 2 years of Alienware research lol, anyway!!! rambling now, if anyone could post a good build i would be more than grateful, i know what im looking for sort of but i dont really have the experience to know whether or not 8gb of ram is great or if 12 is the way to go as well as which intel processor is the best match to not bottleneck the gpu and random other words lol... I will be ordering the laptop on June 9th exactly, so any added pieces about how long it may take to ship would be epic. Thanks in advance!!! |

Looking at both of your builds, i think i found a good middleground. I am definitly looking for a 15 inch laptop, and im not sure whether this build will fit the needs that i mentioned. It falls perfectly in my price range.

Anywho, with the xm11, the video card is the gt 650M 2gb, whereas with the x15E its a GTX 675M 2gb... the option with the x15 is the gtx 670M 1.5gb. Is the extra money and the decrease in HDD space for a less price worth it? like is there a decent sized gap between the 670M 1.5gb and the 675M 2gb... i also have to convince my parents of everything before they'll let me make the purchase xp. And i cant find much online besides conflicting opinions on whether or not 8gb of ram is alot or if i get anything less than 16 im going to have trouble very confusing, i think i need extra ram for games and movie editing, thanks again!! |
