So, after my great experience with customer service yesterday my fiance now wants a new laptop. She only really plays LOTRO so I am pretty sure all the laptops should be sufficient. The issue I am having is that I cannot figure out why the A17 laptop is cheaper than both S series laptops. Seems like they have less perks but more in cost based on video card?
 
Can someone enlighten me?

the s models are using a desktop chip. the a model is using a laptop chip.

Performance wise, is there a huge difference? She only plays LOTRO and can only play on medium/low settings on 1280/1024. She would like to play on at least high if not very/ultra high. Can the A17 do this or should we go with one of the S series?
 
On a side note, she only likes laptops. I dont know why, but I let it slide since she games with me on LOTRO.

to be honest I'm not too familiar with laptop graphic performance, you better call DS and see what they say.
