Laptop for College

Budget:
$1500-$2000 Max, not including other accessories

Expectations:
I expect this comp to be atleast somewhat portable; I'd like to be able to do work outside for a few hours at a time at least for example (which is why I picked a matte screen). I might consider having a second monitor on standby at my desk, so if I can hook it up to that and have 2 monitors that would be awesome, but its not a make or break kinda thing.

Usage:
Medium - High on games like: Skyrim, Mass Effect 1 through 3, Possibly Battlefield 3, Mount and Blade Warband, Guild Wars 2, WoW, Tera, Vindictus.

Web Surfing, Listening to Music, Computer Programming, Video Chat and Conference
Special Needs:
I'd like the computer to be somewhat quiet but its not a big deal. I want the battery to last a decent amount of time (atleast 4 or so hours) while not gaming. I want the SSD hard drive but I don't need a lot of space, will be using an external hard drive to store things.

First one seems more portable and is much cheaper, plus has a blu-ray drive which would be nice. Second one is much more gaming intensive but seems to sacrifice portability and is much more expensive. If it seems like I can get by with the first one I'd prefer it.

I haven't had to buy a laptop before so any suggestions are appreciated

I like both. The only things I would change is go from the Intel 510 SSD to the 320 SSD. Also from what i have read the bigfoot doesn't really help. I have the xm17 and picked the Intel 6300 Wireless.
