Budget:
$2,000 (set by my employer)

Expectations:
Trying to pack all the bang for my bosses buck into something I can do in hotel rooms 4-5 nights a week 3-4 weeks a month.

Usage:
Work... no seriously though I'm going to be playing SWTOR, BF3, Diablo 3 and nothing else for the near future.

Special Needs:
IDK another $3K worth of my new bosses money?

Specifications:
As you can tell by my home built water cooled desktop I like it shiny and it should pur. Seriously though I hate the mobile computing market as a whole because they try to compare to desktop specs which is just nauseating. I would really appreciate some help from someone who tracks the mobile market and can help keep me from throwing away my bosses money. It would also be good to know what the outside dimensions of the 17" laptops would be because I have some really expensive luggage based around that form factor.

Couple of questions
- Need battery life?
- Does it have to do the work of a desktop, or do you just need a computer that'll be able to game a little bit and handle work-related things while you're away from your desktop?
- Erm, do you need the 17", or would 15" be fine?

I don't care about battery life and I want to pack in as much gaming hardware as possible. I would like a 17" because I bought a $700 suite case that is designed for a 17" laptop. A smaller screen would work though, because I could just put the charger in with the laptop to fill the compartment.

Ink, I have read some bad things about the MSI GT780R on Newegg. The R is just the 16GB Ram 1TB hard drive version of the GT780DX. 7 of the 26 reviews had keyboards that were not responsive, double keyed, or failed completely. There were others with wireless issues and touch pad issues. Check it out:

Yeah I heard the the 780DX it's a better laptop. I like it because it has the 570. What would you recommend? I been also looking at the Asus G74 but I don't like it as much. Also the clevo/sager which is what DIgital storm has but I do not like the keyboard layout.

The 780DX is the exact same machine as the R but with less memory the problems will most likely be the same. My friend as the asus G74 and it is a great laptop, but any repairs or issues are done by sending it to California yourself and then they ship it back to you via UPS ground. So screw that. I like that DS is a US company making machines here. So I am buying one from them.
