For starters:

Basically I'm new to Digital storm. I heard about it from a friend of mine that i used to play Aion with when he was discussing with other people on how he needed a new laptop to play Aion on.

I'm starting college this year and I've decided on bringing a laptop instead of a bulky rig. I need to satisfy my gaming needs but I'll only go so far.

I'm very bad at customizing computers and deciding on whether or not it's actually worth that cost.

Now, I think it'll be easier if I listed a bunch of games I'll be intending to play, so hopefully someone can give me some specs i should use to play them.

Games I play right now on a desktop:
Aion (can play perfectly on lowest settings, smooth-ish on medium settings)
Any valve games (Half-life 2, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead etc.)
League of Legends (max settings)
Battlefield Bad company 2

My current difficulties on customizing a laptop is choosing the processor, mainly cause it's the most expensive. My preferred budget is at most $2000 but willing to go a few hundred over the limit if it deems necessary.

If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.

(sorry forgot to mention, those games are what i WANT to be able to play on the laptop eg. I want to be able to play aion atleast perfectly on lowest settings, league of legends on the max settings)

this should serve you well. if I were you though, I'd send DS a message and ask them if they can instead include a Seagate Momentus XT 500GB 2.5" Hybrid Drive. It's sorta a SSD/HDD hybrid. mostly 500GB HDD space, but it has a tiny little 4GB SSD chip on it to automatically tune itself to store some OS parts and programs. kinda neat, speed and space in a single drive lappy.
