Like the subject line says, I have the basic A17 model laptop, have not adjusted any settings, but while playing Crysis or Call or Duty: World at War, my laptop just shuts down, is it over heating?

Do you have it plugged in when playing? If the Laptop was overheating you would definately know it as the BIOS would beep at you while it shutdown, unless the BIOS the DS motherboards doesn't support that feature.
