Amagad! Overclock a laptop!?!?! Haha, that would be something! Laptops seem to run pretty hot as it is with everything crammed in together and less than adequate cooling going on. Perhaps you could go with liquid cooling? IMO, trying to game from a laptop is something like trying to play with a mass market machine. It can work, but not as well as a real gaming rig. I have an old alienware laptop, and I've never been happy with it. Every other laptop that I've seen people play on has left me underwhelmed as well. I like small things, but the most I'd compromise now is by going with an mATX motherboard and small pc.

The reason I asked is because Intel makes extreme chips for laptops that can be overclocked.

I have an X9000 in my inspiron right now doing a great job.

I was looking to getting the QX9300 which is gonna be the quad core laptop extreme chip.

so I figured if the chips can be OC then the laptop should be able to run it OC.

BTW I never said anything about gaming ;) just because I want power it does not mean its for gaming ;)
