Budget:
$3.5k

Expectations:
60 FPS at 1080P for most games.

Usage:
Gaming when away from home. Most major titles.

So, I am in the market for a laptop. But I am wondering if I should wait for the next generation of Nvidia mobile graphics cards to release or order a 680M SLI now? Thoughts?

It's entirely up to you. Both options are great, either the 2x SLI 680M or the upcoming stuff. From what I know, the newer stuff is not that much faster, but, is definitely much more expensive.

Will the newer cards (for both mobile and desktop) push down the 600 series prices on day 1?

From what I know Nvidia don't generally drop prices on previous gen just because a new one is out. It will probably be either same price or higher!
