looking for a 45nm laptop, not really intended for gaming, just hoping it will be power efficient and stay useful (for the wife) that much longer.
What sort of memory sould I get to avoid crippling the T8100++ processor? is 667mhz sufficient? (2-3gb?) Is there a reason not to get a 9cell battery over the 6 cell? also which screen would you folks recommend as actually usable? Or should I assume I'll be driving an external monitor with it and go for whatever is cheapest? Thanks, Dave |

Hi.
I registered in the hope that would encourage a reply... is this not the right forum for laptop questions?
Am I better off just buying a branded premade machine
(Lenovo? Dell makes me sad.)
Thanks for all replies,
Renee

Hi Renee,
Hang in there, someone is sure to reply to your questions. I don't own a laptop, and have little to no knowledge of them, so I will not comment, but I have sent a PM to a member of the DSO staff and asked them to check this thread. |

Sorry for the late reply, our CS staff has been very busy with the phones lately. Especially since a few of our key sales staff has been out sick. I will personally take care of this one for you:
The best advice I can say for the use you are describing, just go with a 2GB 667Mhz memory setup. Memory at 800MHz would be good for a gaming laptop, not for your use range. Also, the higher CELL battery is for battery life, unless you are taking it with flights in a airplane, or travel, the 6 cell is fine.
Let me know if you have further questions, and always, for immediate help, call our phone staff, 866-817-8676.
Regards,
Alex
