I was wondering if anyone around here knows anything about batteries, If I leave my laptop on its charged for the night will it affect my laptop in any way? Just got the laptop like a week ago from DS and I don't want to do anything that would harm it. Thanks!

I had a sony laptop before it was stolen and had it on charge 24/7 and I took off charge when I went to another room and used it. Never had any problems and unplug the battery life really didn't change that much. Battery life if i remember right was about 3 hours.

It takes about 2-3 hours to fully charge the battery. If you plan on leaving it plugged in over the night, you should unplug it because it can degrade your battery.
If you're going to leave it plugged in 24/7, you should just remove the battery. |

leaving your laptop plugged in 24/7 can degrade the battery life over time... i do it all the time... now my battery lasts about 45 minutes... but that's ok because i never unplug it...
*EDIT* i should clarify, im talking about my 4 year old dell laptop, the battery was never very good to begin with. Edited by axleman1011 - 15 Sep 2011 at 3:39pm |
