Greetings Fellow Digital Storm Aficionados!
This evening while relaxing I notice my LED cabinet strip and fan lighting went from the wonderful "auto" mode to solid GREEN on its own. I shut down and powered off and it came up the same. Then I went looking for the little remote control that I hadn't seen since the day I got the system last Christmas. I finally found the remote and hit the buttons and no go. Oh no! I didn't care about the LED cabinet strip but those AIO fan's shine so beautifully when cycling through in "auto" mode. Solid GREEN AIO fans wasn't going to cut it. Well, I found some new batteries and my battery checker and verified the new ones were good. But before I replaced the battery I checked it and it was full charge. Anyhow, I put in the original battery and shoved it firmly back in and said a little prayer. I hit the "auto" button and suddenly everything was as bright and beautiful as it was last Christmas when I first fired this Beast up. I am glad I found the remote. I don't know if there is another way to reset the LEDs without it. The awful GREEN reminded of my 6 years in the Army so I would have had to yank the power on the GREEN lights till I figured it out. This is what stresses a retired person that just wants to play games and have fun without a reminder of my first day at Fort Polk at 18 greeting my lovely Drill Instructor as I arrived with a glow in my eye that passed quickly. Oh well, I understand they are renaming it to Fort Johnson. GREEN is a nice color for a lovely dress not something you prefer wearing every single day for 6 years. :-) Edited by Onkel_Ken - 11 Oct 2022 at 8:10pm |

Hi Ken…. My newer case I also keep it on Auto.. Looks great. It’s not where I slept so all is good. Lol.
Remote is collecting dust sitting next to the case. My older case I did change the solid color every few weeks just for different and the green was my least favorite. I found the remote needed the battery reseated every time I used it. Not sure why but an easy enough “fix”. Enjoy. |

Just so you know, the LED strip won't last forever. Mine is a bit over 4 1/2, and the lights no longer chase and change colors the length of the strip. It's not defunct yet. some of the lights engage in slow-glow and even change colors. but it's not like it was. The degeneration came over a long time, but I believe it was all well for at least two years or more. I have a Corsair H110 AIO, so no LED fans there.

Thanks to bprat22 & Cretae for responding! :-)
Oh, Cretae since I bought a 5/3 warranty I might get lucky enough that the LED strip dies before the 3 years are over of full coverage. This way I get them replaced for free for a few more years of use. I will tell you that the beautiful LEDs on my AIO fans makes me mad that that I didn't get fancy LED fans everywhere. They are truly spectacular in how they handle light variations. The light strips are OK but those fans are DIVINE! |
