Hey everyone...

Something happened over the last few days that really scared me... kind of put a few things in perspective.  I just want you all to not ignore your natural warning signs.

Sunday I started getting this headache at the base of my skull.  Well of course I didn't do anything about it except take some Advil my roomie had in the cabinet.  Well Monday, I go to work and had to leave due to pay a fine at the court and well that's when that small headache came back with a vengence.  I mean it was there all morning but it was tolerable as my headaches always are.

Well I am at court, pay my fines (stupid court sent stupid reminder to the wrong stupid address!  but I digress).  Then my head started throbbing and I thought my eye was going to freaking explode.  I vomit.  Enter the migraine from hell.

I come home take more advil.  I pass out.  I wake up tuesday, now this time not only my migraine but it's all over.  I felt like I got hit by a mac truck.
Tuesday night I take more advil and my roomie found me on the floor.  I wake up on the way to the ER.

It turns out my blood sugar is way too low, then way too high.  Very unstable.  The reason of this is mainly because I eat maybe once a day.  If that.  I just don't get hungry, except at lunch.  Oh and to add insult to injury, the Advil was 2 years expired.  But luckily I didn't take that much to make a difference.

Anyway, I am not Diabetic (thank god) but borderline Hypoglycemic and Malnurished.

Anyway, I am home.  I feel like utter dog crap.  I should be at work tomorrow, because I feel a lot better now than I did earlier, but still, pretty hazy.

All they did was put me on an iv, (to hydrate) and feed me a bunch :-P and let me rest because they said my mind is always 567890987654 miles an hour and I am always working on somehting.

Basically, what I am trying to say, pay attention to the dash lights.  Next thing you know your engine blows and you're screwed.

Thanks!
Yeah, those pills went down the toilet as soon as I got home tonight.  In fact, we found a whole bunch of expired stuff.

Kinda scary in of itself.

My best friend has issues like that.

If he doesn't snack when he's hungry he will end up passing out..he had a similar experience as you without the headaches.

Take care of yourself!

Dude, Kelly, get your eating habits tweaked! You need to start eating several small meals a day. This eating once a day is going to kill you! Try to force yourself to eat 5 or 6 times a day, small amounts at a time. And in each meal try to balance out a serving of carbs, protiens and fiber.

Seriously, if you have any form of an eating disorder, go see someone about it and get some sort of resolution. You can not function like that.

I wish you luck, my friend.

Kelly, glad to hear you're ok.

You and I have some things in common it would appear. I tend to be on the go all the time, and have a tendency to tune out everything except what I'm focused on, including little things like the need for food or sleep.

I still don't get all that hungry in the mornings, but I make sure I at least eat a protein bar with my morning cup of caffeine. At work, I will grab a snack of some sort, two if I work more than 8 hours.

I still eat my main meal when I get home from work, but I can tell you, you will feel much better during the day if you eat a little something. Make it convenient, make it something you enjoy, and you'll stick to it.

Kelly:

How can you not eat?  That's like my second favorite thing to do...Wink

Now hear this, you WILL eat three meals a day.  That's an order.  You can't provide killer system support along with your personal brand of biting sarcasm if you're eating like a supermodel.  Sometimes we need a wakeup call like you just got, but be very careful, you don't always get a second chance...

Hope your recovery is full and swift.  Best wishes,

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone.
Well as some of you know, I didn't go to work today.  I woke up with a screaming headache.  The doc said if I get another migraine, to come back so they can check my glucose levels and sure enough, they plummeted again.  So it looks like I am  Hypoglycemic and dehydrated.
Too much coffee (bad starbucks bad) and not enough food/water intake.

So, they gave me nice muscle relaxers (flexiril) for my headache and passing out.

The doc wants me to stay out tomorrow too but man, a week without pay is going to freaking hurt more than this headache on payday.  :(

yeah, it's either not enough sugar or too much is causing the headaches...

But after I get back on a scheduled eating habbit of meats, starchs, veggies then I have sugar 2x a day then snacks for about a week or so, then everything will be fine.

That must have been extremely scarry.  I know what its like I get migranes probably one to two times a month, but I have perscribed pills and habits that can fix it.  I remember the first time i got a migrane, (sixth grade history class) and I lost all of my vision within a minute.  then the headache, which litterally felt like my head was being slip down the middle, took over.  I had that migrane for three days!

Take care of yourself, Kelly.  There's only one you... thank God.  Your blood sugar can also drop while you're pregnant, so be sure to monitor that when you get knocked-up, twinkles.

I hope your feeling better; I know where your coming from; I actually had been trying to loose weight; and I was told by a Dr. friend of mine that the reason I dont loose any weight is cause I never eat; when Im hungry I drink coffee; and Im not even going to telly you how much coffee I can pound in a day.

Anway to get myself in the habit of eating again to get my metabolism running so I can actually loose weight I joined one of those Diet Programs where they actually deliver fresh food to my house every morning.  Its been just about 3 weeks; and my kids are yelling at me cause they see some of the meals in the Frig that I havent eating; but overall im eating about 2 meals a day now; dont really feel all that different yet; but have also cut down on my coffee intake.  Im not anorexic or anything; I just am always so busy; that I drink coffee and smoke cigarettes; and when I do eat its usually something like Smores Pop Tarts; or Coco puffs breakfast bars, etc.  So im hoping by the time the 7 weeks I paid for with this diet are up Ill have some habit of eating real type foods again.  Maybe you should give it a try.  The food is really good too. not that dehydrated crap.   They also have a Flash Freeze Program where they bring 1 weeks worth of Meals at a time; and they are Flash Frozen after they are cooked.  I just didnt have the extra room in my Freezer to do that.  But it is actually getting me in the habit of eating again.

Kelly,
Hope your doing better...You can't replace eating sensibly with anything else.  If God didn't want us to eat, he wouldn't have given us a stomach!

I know it is killing you not being able to work, but remember, if you don't have your health, everything else does not matter much.

We all pulling for you!!

Wow, until the comment about being knocked up, I thought Kelly was a man. Perhaps this is because every Kelly Ive every known was a strange strange guy-thing.

I forget to eat all of the time, but I make up for it by walking around my workplace after hours and eating all of the food that people leave on thier tables.

Luckily for me, this mostly includes super delicious almond crunch bars and fresh fruit (and mucho dark chocolate). Also, on the weekends I eat like 8 4 course meals a day. I think that helps.

In any case, food is for suckers as we will all soon be integrated into the massive biomachine pantheon. I hope you found this post constructive and informative.

I am not a doctor, but I did minor in nutrition in college and major in athletic training so I learned a few things about the body. After reading your comments it appears that you are basically malnurished. You're body needs more liquids without stimulants and sugar and a balanced variety of foods more regularily. I've created other issues with my self with regards to eating the same foods over and over and not good ones at that. I know a body doesn't come with a manual, but...

The 5 keys to good health:

1) Eat a balanced variety of foods closest to their whole form (not processed)

2) Drink lots of water (8 to 10 glasses a day) until your pee runs clear once a day

3) Get regular sleep daily

4) Maintain a positive attitude...harbored bitterness will kill you slowly

5) Lots of gaming!Wink

You were very helpful to me when I called about PC questions and I'm loving the pc.

Stay well! We need you.
