As the title says I have a build I'm looking at here tentatively, the ticket is # 537732.

My budget is right around $2500, I would like to stay under put a couple bucks over wouldn't hurt.

I am looking to upgrade to SLI in the future.

Looking to keep music & possibly movies stored here.

Most likely will be using a monitor with a 1920 x 1080 resolution.

I guess my questions pertain to hardware choice & certain features available. Please keep in mind I have limited knowledge in the technical area.

Should I have the CPU overclocked?

Is this motherboard right for this build?

Did I make a good video card selection?

Should I upgrade to a better CPU cooler or even downgrade?

If anything else is glaring with this build please let me know I welcome any & all advice.

I was wondering about the monitor, I have seen Dell monitors recommended by a lot of people & am wondering why. I did mention my tech knowledge is novice at best but looking at the tech specs of the Dell compared to other monitors it seems that it is a bit lacking. Is there something I'm missing or just not reading things correctly?

Also I neglected to mention in my initial post that I am an avid gamer & the machine will be used for that primarily if that happens to have an impact on anything.

that pc will do great in any enviroment, gaming, work, editing, etc, so no I got nothing to change based on you being a gamer, to be honest that is what I thought you were, which is why I left room for sli, should it be needed down the road.

Now as for monitors, its tricky, contrast ratio and response time should be ignored as they are BS number and impossible to compare.

Most important thing about a monitor is its panel, right now there are 2 major ones, TN and IPS, IPS has superior picture quality/clarity.

all the ones here on DS and other places are TN.

the one I showed you is an IPS.

so in-fact the dell is far superior to the other TN panels.

BTW is adding that extra fan something I need to provide for Digital Storm or will they just add it & charge me appropriately?

Thank you for the help & advice will most likely be purchasing this in the next week or so. I am very much looking forward to seeing the difference in quality in regards to the IPS panel, once again thanks for the help.

You just need to tell DS that you want the oem 200mm fan added to the top, it should run you $20.
