Hi DS community,
My new pc finally arrived and what a fine machine it is! I removed the packaging and wow this case is huge (Hailstorm II). I removed the side panels and checked the condition of the components. To my relief everything was intact. The pc started and has been running fast and cool. I have one question: How do you turn on the inside light strip? |

Look for a small red switch on the back of the rig, just below the video cards.

Hi bprat,
Thanks for the quick response. I did not find a small red switch in the back. However, I then removed the side panel and found that the lighting connector is unplugged. Do you know where it plugs in? |

Going by what I have, there is a small light blue or green box, inverter it's called, that has the white wires coming from one side to the light strips and the other side has a black and red wire harness that connects to a 4 pin peripheral plug from the psu. Another cable from the switch breaks into the red wire I believe . The red/black wire is the power to the inverter.
Could be the 4 pin peripheral plug became disconnected from the harness. If you have the remote control lighting, the hookup would be different. But, it still needs to connect to a 4 pin from the psu I would think. Edited by bprat22 - 31 Jan 2015 at 9:29am |

I think you have the DS RGB LED Lighting with control board? The lights plug into a white control board and the the board itself needs the 4 pin peripheral cable from psu harmess plugged into it.

I've had my comp since October and stare at it on my desk all day long, never once wondered what the red switch was for. Thanks for telling me how to turn my lights off :)
