I dont know a lot about PC's other than what I have researched over the last 2 weeks. I am still lost when it comes to making a final decision. Can someone please help me put together a solid gaming PC.

I want to be able to play world of warcraft maxxed out (from what I read not so difficult) but I also play MW2, Dragon Age:Origins, SC2 and other games like that.
 
My budget is $1400 and that has to include shipping
 
I have no brand preferance. Everywhere you read has conflicting arguments for both. So AMD, Intel, Ati, Nvidia, etc... are all on the table.
 
I really just want to get the most for my money.

thats not bad, but i cant get behind buying amd
 
 
same build with an i7 860, you lose some storage, you get better cpu cooling
and a free $50 game.. choose your poison

I'd go with enders build.

For 112$ theres also few nice upgrades. would bump up the price to 1493$

875K 37$. unlocked multiplier=higher overclock

460 1GB more vram, higher fps. 35$

1TB 32MB cache HDD. 40$

Of course, if it's out of your budget, then it's out of your budget, but imo, all of these are worth the money.

oh yeah.. for the price of all of those, you can just get a 470. lol, i didn't even think about that. Yeah, that would be the way to go, assuming you can afford it.

But a 460 1GB offers a noticeable improvement for only 35 bucks. I'd consider getting it.

So you think its better to get the older chipset i7 than the AMD? Should more money be spend on the processor or the graphics?

heres a peek at the difference in performance
 
you can find a lot more online if you need to justify the difference
 
as far as money, it depends on what youre building, if its a gaming machine, you start with the GPU, then CPU
but right now the prices are good enough to get an 860 or a 920 without breaking the bank, so theres no excuse not to have one

Im not trying to be difficult. Just trying to make sure I make the right buying decision. Trust me I appreciate the help. After reading through these forums I trust what you guys hae to say more than most of the stuff I have read online. Thank you for the help.

its no worry, if we were bothered by people who asked worthwhile questions we wouldnt be here, i can only speak for myself here but i enjoy helping people out, when i first showed up on these forums i didnt know crap, and they inspired me to become the noob enthusiast on a budget that i am today Cool
