Liquid cooling maintenance/up-keep/cleaning

   I've recently discovered DS and I like what I see so far.  I usually build my own systems, but I've never tried liquid cooling.  I'm too scared of messing something up, I guess.  If I decided to make a purchase from DS, I will most likely make a purchase that has liquid cooling.  Before I do, though, I have a couple of questions.
What sort of specialized maintenance am I looking at for liquid cooling systems?

Do I have to replace the fluids regularly?  

Are DS systems with liquid cooling made maintainer friendly?  

Are the parts involved relatively simple to replace if necessary? 

Do I have to worry about corrision? 

What about preventative maintenance (steps taken to reduce/prevent future problems)? 

These are just some of the things that came to mind.  I've done just a small amount of research and I've heard that sometimes there are problems with algae and corrosion, which could lead to leaks.   The idea of having to take an entire system apart on a regular basis just to keep it clean is a little daunting for me.  I like the simplicity of wiping of a few fans, rinsing some dust filters, and a good old can of compressed air.

	Ive had my system for year soon and my coolant is crystal clear. topped it off after a month or so which is easy. i added a pure silver coil into the reservoir and i can tell it has done its job. Don't add any additives like color dye so it doesn't gum it up. the pump would be the thing IMO to go the easiest. Can always check to see how its working with the bubbles and pressure and the feel of the pump. If you get the all enclosed setup like the DS version of H100i then the only thing ud need to check is if the pump is going and no leaks which very rarely happens. I highly recommend the silver coil in custom liquid setups and goes for like 6 bucks on frozen cpu or even amazon. the coolant is non-conductive as well so it wont cause perm damage to anything. 	DS uses XSPC EC6 Coolant so it's easy on your components and won't cause corrosion. Just avoid adding dyes or any other additives as this could throw the balance of the solution off and could gum up the system. From what I've read around this forum is that the majority of water cooling users have only added more coolant over several years of usage without any issues. Edited by fstcvc - 31 Aug 2013 at 6:41pm

	IF you want the real liquid cooling experience/performance you have to go with HydroLux level 1 or higher if I'm not mistaken. the enclosed lc like the h100i can't hang with a real lc system, you get about the same performance as a great air cooler. Now with the closed loops there is no maintenance but you are missing out on what a real lc can do also as far as performance. for a real lc setup, you are looking at flushing the system once every 3 years. and adding liquid if needed. AS mentioned the liquid used is non conductive which means it can't cause short-circuits. They do provide quick disconnect with makes it simple to disconnect and change stuff but I'm not upto date about how many they have and where each is, but with them upgrade/change is much easier.
