Hey everyone. I was wondering if you all at DSO see liquid cooling prices coming down anytime soon? It seems like the popularity of liquid cooling is on the rise, so I was curious about that. But, with it being "liquid", a substance that doesn't play well with electronics, do you see this tech being one that will be here to stay? Are there any alternatives to liquid cooling, besides air, available, or in the works, for home computing?
I just think that this tech is really interesting and something that your new and existing customers would benefit from hearing about here. I haven't really seen any dedicated sections on it and I am not sure how many customers purchase this upgrade, but I bet many have questions about it. Personally, I would like to hear some personal experiences with liquid cooling, maintenance of a liquid cooling system, testimonials, stuff like that. While the section on liquid cooling in the configuration area is great for seeing what liquid cooling is, it may be beneficial to have a forum post talking about the tech, effectiveness, and where the tech is headed. I think it would be a great tool for all of us that goes beyond what is in the configuration area. Being able to find solid and factual information here would be a great for existing and potential customers. Lets face it, there are many places to find bad information on the net. |

Not all liquid is conductive To answer the question, yes, there are more exotic cooling solutions available, but nowhere near as cost effective as a liquid cooling system. You could probably ask for a phase change cooler, but be prepared for a lil' shocker when they give you the price tag

I have my CPU liquid cooled ($$$$) but is works amazingly well. It is an amazing set up and is much more involved than I thought. I have never been a fan of it in the past and was always told it was a waste of money.
But, that was years ago and times have changed. I can tell you I am VERY happy with my chilled CPU.
Or, as clinton says, you could always buy a walk in cooler to store your system in!
