Just as the title says, anyone ever try the CoolIT Eliminator? It has some good reviews.
I'm thinking of upgrading and sending my computer into DS for some sort of cooling updgrade.
I have a Q9450, anyone have temps with Liquid Cooling or CoolIT Eliminator on this processor?
Also anyone have any idea how much it costs to upgrade with shipping etc? Or is it even worth it? Edited by Sneakerz - 07 Nov 2008 at 8:17pm |

with Q9450 you can expect a 3.2 to 3.4 OC speed with LC, from DS.

DST4ME do you think the additional 200MHZ OC is worth the $300+shipping for LC.
Sitting at 3.2 on Air right now..

no, I think you would be much better off to wait say a year or 8 month then send in your PC for a q9650 and LC upgrade at that time, which should cost alot less.

Id just save your money and wait a year for proccesors to come down in price and get an extreme quad. thats what im gonna do. it would cost you just as much to do that as to buy a q9550 which usually on air overclocks to 3.4

Yeah you're probably right and a year from now I bet the Q9650 will be dirt cheap or even the Extreme chips.

The chips won't be dirt cheap unless you get it from Ebay or some flea market. -.-
Just look at past history. The retailers who still carry old chips such as the E6600 and Pentiums 4 still sell them at the same retail price when they went EOL. |

Even when the platform is no longer made? I would think that after 1 yr Intel will eventually fade out the old platform therefore sell the expensive processors right now for alot less a year from now.
The reason they are still expensive right now is because LGA775 has not phased out yet. But once Nehalem and Denab hit they will phase out LGA775.
