Well I know that I am not the only one waiting (impatiently but waiting!) for an ultra uber DS machine!  I have never been good about winning contests, so I am going to start a contest I hope I can win by being unlucky (something I tend to be good at).  I ordered my machine September 5th, 2007 and am still waiting.  I am not starting the game out of meanspiritedness or anything I just want to do something while I am waiting and trolling the customer service update and these forums!

The contest rules are simple just tell everyone when you ordered and how long you have been waiting.  The one who has been waiting the longest gets an AWWWWW MAN!!!!   Tongue

I think I and a few others can 1 up you.

I received my machine, then had to send it back the next day, and that was before I could even turn it on properly let alone play any games.

ordered mine on the 14th of sept... of course bank auth issues pushed the actual build to the 24th, and I just found out that because I selected the bluestorm paint that adds a week to the process...

its still in stage 1... so I might got you beat (time will tell). I almost went with the anodized black to speed it up but after thinking about it, if I am spending so much $$ I really should get exactly what I want and it will be worth it!

Well, I’ve heard of small automobile companies that build one-of-a-kind cars for rich people. Building these cars can take up to a year and a half so I have heard. I’m thinking Digital Storm is kind of like that. I ordered my computer Sept.15th (on a Saturday night I think) and as of this writing I’m at stage one. I kind of hope to get mine before the graphics card I chose becomes obsolete. LOL

I just found out today that my CPU was having trouble with some test or other that they do so it might be back to stage I if I am unlucky enough.

Stage 2 is the testing stage, once you reach that level, you will stay there. We will most likely fix the problem within a day or two. Smile

Hey, you could have ordered a custom built yacht and I understand those things can take a couple of years to build. You’d have to rough-it on your old yacht for some time lounging on the deck while visiting exotic ports around the world to help ease your waiting time. Now wouldn’t that suck. Wink

I would think with THAT build you would expect atleast 30 days to get it right, synced up, drivered, tweeked, etc, etc, etc ...  no way would I want that rig of yours rushed ... everything worth having is worth waiting for.

plus by the looks of your rig, you wont need another computer for 15 years .. Cool

Why not go with the Raid 0 option. It doesn't cost anything and it will make your system faster.

Confused my old Yacht wont sail... and my computer is not even near stage 1 yet... and from the looks of peoples order numbers it just might be Christmas.. Not DS's fault I'm desperate and have no other life but gaming online *laughs* The wait is just going to kill me. Just wish I knew it was even started yet.. But I'm really afraid considering my orders 100+ past those at stage 1 and 2 Cry

Because I will be triple booting WinXP, Vista, and Ubuntu and I would rather have the storage space than I would the increase from a raid 0.

They could only OC the CPU from 3.33 GHz to 3.46 GHz though.  I won't beat every benchmark but most of them.  They can sometimes get that one up to 3.6 GHz.  But the system is still insanely awesome so I should be okay.

What was taking the time was they couldn't get it to stably overclock at first.  The system worked great without overclock.  But they said they have it good now.

wow, this was depressing to read.

i ordered my computer in late september but didnt get the billing and shipping sorted out until oct. 4th. it says i can expect it to ship 5-10 business days from the 4th- have these estimates been at all accurate in the experience of customers with similar orders to mine (below)?

my rig was pretty simple... 8800gts, q6600, 2gb ram. it is currently in stage 1 and the site says it should move into stage 2 around the middle of this coming week.

Ordered:  Sept. 18
Entered Stage 2:  Oct 1
Entered Stage 3:  TBD
Received:  TBD

I haven't received any notification regarding any problems encountered during Stage 2 testing, yet it's been over 4.5 business days since I got my Stage 2 notification.  I'll probably have to call today to see what's up.

I ordered this setup. The DS folks had some minor stability issues with the OC'ing that held it back a bit. Regardless, I'm please with it's performance so far. Smile

There was just something about the Vaio.  One of my friends had one, it wasn't all that bad of a computer.  Hell I liked it way better then the HP & Gateway.

Well, after the last few days with my new piece of computing joy, the wait was worth it. Did it take a long time, sure did, and I would be lying if I said I wasn't concerned at times.

The guys at DS obviously have their hands full of orders and builds, and at times might not have the time to respond as quickly as they would like. But EVERY time I called, they were nothing less than professional in dealings with them. Good on ya DS team!!

The wait is worth it fellas trust me! Smile

Ordered: Oct 2nd
Stage: 0

To their credit DSO did everything they could to get in a suitable replacement for the case I ordered, and the system probably could have been out the door by now had I just done that. Also to their credit, DSO (specifically Kelly) encouraged me to hang in and wait for what would make me happiest, rather than what would get them their money and another system out the door faster.

With the 1 month wait before my build even starts, I've had a chance to re-examine all of the computer vendors on the net, this time with the benefit of months of research, and everything I've learned on these forums. After looking through all of the other options a second time from a much more educated position, I am happier than ever that I found DSO.

The wait sucks, but there is no better value out there.
