Looking for a new gaming computer

Budget:
I would like to keep it under $1800 (the lower the better obviously). I already have all the peripherals that I will need, so all of the budget will be put into just the rig.

Expectations:
Currently, I will be using a single monitor (1600 x 900) and expect to be able to have smooth gameplay with max settings on the games I play.

Usage:
I will be using the computer to play WoW, GW2, SWTOR, Rift, and some other games that are less graphically intensive than those listed above. I will also be using this computer for browsing the internet (wired) and for typing up reports for school.

This is something I came up with, but I don't know if it is overkill for what I want to do. If anyone could make some suggestions for improvement, or recommend me another system that will better fit my needs, please let me know!

Your config looks great! 3570K is a good Bang-for-your-buck Intel CPU.

One thing though, the internal lights won't fit inside the 300R case.

Hi Faulted.....   Welcome to the forums.      I agree with Captain Ahoge that you put together a real nice build.      I would suggest if you want internal lights and a better case go with the 500R case, white or black.

Have you considered the ODE level 1?    For $1499 it gives you the exact same gaming performance in a nice case.      Your build's Sabertooth mobo and 800w psu are better than ODE's with longer warranty .     The Sabertooth and 800w allow sli, 2x gtx670 but if you never intend on sli then ODE 1 is great.     

So many ways to go.    Let us know and good luck.

Thanks for the replies guys.

The lights were just kind of a fun thing, they aren't important to me really lol. I just figured if they were $10, then why not.

Please excuse my ignorance here, but I'm fairly computer illiterate. So, I will get the same gaming performance with the ODE level 1 as I would with what I put together?

As for the future, I'm not sure if I would run multiple cards or not. If I did it would probably be at least two years down the road. Would it be worth trying to future proof it for that long, or in that amount of time will new hardware be out that would be better to invest in?

The 670FTW card in your build is a bit better than reference gtx670 in the ODE.  The FTW is basically a refernce 680 with its better board, cooling etc but for gaming is pretty much the same, within a few % points.
 
So, for the most part, the ODE is the same as your build for gaming. 
 
Hard to tell about future cards, but in my opinion, if you're not gonna sli in the next several months then I wouldn't plan on it.  Cards are gonna get better and older cards become less desirable by some and maybe harder to get.
 
The only thing with your build is the 5 year warranty on the Sabertooth and the 800W psu.  The ODE has 3 years on the mobo and psu.  But again in 3-5 years its tough to say what'll be going on.

After a little bit of thinking, I believe I am going to go with this: 749768.

Does DS usually have a Black Friday/Cyber Monday special? If so I may wait until then to order.

DS never does a heads-up on sales. 
That's a real nice build.   The only issue is your internal lighting.   The Internal Lighting, UV tube, is for true water cooling like stage 3 and above.  Change it to a color and your good to go.  The tubing on the Vortex is opaque unlike water cooled systems.
You could save some money, $57, and go with the Hyper 212 cooler for stage 1 overclocking.  It works great, very reliable with no mini pump to go bad and is about the same noise level if not quieter.   The Vortex 120 does have a good reputation so your call as always.

If the fan you mentioned will work just fine, I think I will swap it in. I was kind of hesitant of the water cooling because I have never dealt with it before, and I'm not sure what having it entails lol.
