Hey everyone, I'm in the market for a new computer and have heard and read good things about Digital Storm.
Budget: $1500-2400 on the computer alone. I have a monitor (1440x900 currently, picking up one capable of 1920x1080 in the near future), mouse and keyboard. Expectations: I'd like for this computer to have at least a 1000W power supply. I'm not sure if SLI is necessary or not, I mostly play MMOs so I'd love to hear a few opinions on whether that route is even necessary. Ideally I'd like to comfortably run most games at high settings currently and have it remain capable over a four year lifespan, though obviously I do not expect to run a new game four years from now on ultra settings. Usage: 95% gaming, primarily MMOs though I do love me some Starcraft2. I have no need for office packages, video or photo editing. Special Needs: I have three large dogs so even with constant cleaning there's still quite a bit of hair and dust. My current computer is a much more enclosed system then what the cases here appear to be so with light maintenance it remains nearly dust free. I'm fairly certain I'll have to keep a far closer eye on one of these computers. If you all have any tips to keep the cases here in good order I'd appreciate hearing them. Thanks in advance! |

I have pets too, if you clean once a week then it should be no problem.
MMO don't utilize sli much, but I hear tht some games like rift or startcarft might need it. I will give you a sli capable system, if some some others can chime in about starcraft2 and sli that would help us better. SLI is not needed for SC2. I run a Gtx 470 and max out the game @ 1920x1080 and have no issues.
Blizzard has stated that the game doesn't support it, and a quick browse through the support forums for SC2 shows that some people actually disable their second GPU's when playing to increase fps. |

Thanks for the responses, guys. Interesting to know that SC2 doesn't support SLI. Once my next paycheck comes through I'm going to put in an order. Can't wait!
