Budget:
Looking to spend no more than $1,200. This is not including a monitor or any accessories, I already have that covered. Expectations: I'm looking for a pc that will play most games on high settings with a solid frame rate. Usage: General web usage, School Projects (usually no more than Word or Excel), and definitely a good chunk of gaming. Special Needs: Nothing that I haven't already mentioned! This should cover about any information I think. I'm no newbie in terms of building computers, as I've done it multiple times in the past. But with schooling and everything I don't have much time to search for parts, get reviews, send rebates, etc. Ultimately I'm just looking for a computer that will make all my games look pretty, and still run well! Thanks! |

Welcome to DS, Blastadon! Looks like you found the right place to get your new system!
I would recommend either the L2 Bolt w i5 CPU upgrade or L3 Vanquish. Both are nice systems with similar specs. The Bolt is using a previous generation CPU, but still no slouch. It also takes up very little space. The Vanquish will give more room for upgrades.
Best part is the warranty. If you order soon enough, you'll get a 4th year for free! Best of luck on making your choice. Let us know if you have any other questions!

Hi Blastadon.... You didn't mention the monitor resolution you'll be using but if its a 23" at 1920x1080 or less then the Vanquish level 3 with its gtx 760 will give you what you need. High to Max gaming is possible, the heavier shooters being High settings.
Good luck and stay in touch.

I agree with bpratt22 Vanquish Level 3 seems like the best choice, as long at the monitor is no more the 1920x1080.

For a marginal bump in price over the vanquish level 3, the level 4 system offers a better GPU and liquid cooled processor. That and it gives you an SSD as well as the 1 TB you get from the l.3. I was convinced that those upgrades made it worth the $

The L4 Vanquish is truly a monster of a machine for the price!

All of them!!
Depends on what you're into. Too bad you just missed Steams big sale about a month or so ago. I'm sure they'll have more - you can't beat $3-5 games... If you're looking for some new stuff, Battlefield 4 is just around the corner & Titan Fall looks to be promising (don't recall who brought that one up but it looks awesome). Batman: Arkham Origins should be out soon as well and who isn't excited for Assassin's Creed 4! If you're into racing, there's a new Need For Speed & F1 2013 that'll be arriving just in time for the holidays as well. There are previous generations of these titles that are available for much less $$. I'm just getting back into PC gaming and these are a few of my favorite up and coming titles! Of course everyone's taste in games varies... Edited by fstcvc - 18 Sep 2013 at 11:35pm |

My top 3 so far are Call of Duty: Modern Ware/Blk Ops 2 and Battlefield 3! Been looking on youtube at the multi players. Also getting the 50Mg down internet speed. I'll post those benchmarks after the tech gets here this Saturday!
