Budget: $2800 Expectations: I would like to play games on the highest graphic settings. My primary monitor is the ASUS VE278Q LED – 27" 1920x1080 Full HD and I also have a secondary monitor (22', I believe) that is used mainly for web pages and when working on work/school projects using MS Office. This will be my second computer that I have bought from DS, the first one was bought in 09. Any advice is greatly appreciated as I want to enjoy the hard work that game artists put into their games. Usage: I play a flight simulation game (Aces High II), BF 3 and BF 4 when it comes out the Batman series and Guild Wars 2. Hi Biomtt.... That is an excellant build.
My only personal choice is to change the H100i cpu cooler for the Noctua D14. The sealed H100i does have a very good reputation and are popular but the Noctua is quiet, cools great and tops in reliability. It is huge but not much to go wrong, being a block of cooling fins with no pump, tubing to worry about. Other than that,I' ve got nothing. Looks great.

oooooo I found something you didn't suggest.
As suggested many many times to others including myself. Change the 1TB Seagate (7200 RPM) (64MB Cache) to the 1TB Western Digital Caviar (7200 RPM) (Model: Black Edition) +$19 a much more reliable drive ![]() O and btw: my new system will be here Tuesday....can't wait. Pics coming soon !!!! Edited by keitht06 - 10 Oct 2013 at 2:06pm |

Yep. For just a few bucks more, a better drive, the WD Caviar Black.
Good catch.

Looks like a solid build. Not much more to recommend that hasn't already been brought up with the exception of the preference on the forums of the Samsung 840 Pro over the Corsair Neutron GTX but the difference is very small - so both are good choices...

Looks a great build. I'm looking at an almost identical one myself.
I agree with the suggestions already made. A couple of questions for the experts: Can the ASUS Z87-EXPERT motherboard take 2 graphics cards AND a sound card. If I get this sort of build I may want to throw another graphics card in at some point. |

It's a full size ATX mobo so you shouldn't have any issues using x2 SLI + 1-3 additional cards. The GPU will always cover any slot just below as they are double slot cards. Just make sure you have good air flow...
