Budget: $2100
Expectations: Looking for a good solid build. Would like to optimize price and quality. Willing to spend some now to have more ability to spend less later on upgrades when needed/wanted. I am looking at a custom build instead of the ODE but not dead set against a ODE. Usage: My gaming(MMOs mostly) will push what I get long before any other use can test my machines limits. Special Needs: For now I have an old monitor that I'll upgrade soon. I'm looking at ending with a res of 1920x1080. I can use some guidance on a good monitor in the $300 and 24 in range. Later I may go to two monitors when I can afford it. I do want SLI capability for later. I need computer it to be as quiet as I can get. Also I would like to not have any lighting on the case or be able to turn the lighting off. I don't want LC if I can help it. Saved Ticket #: 583323 After looking around I came up with this build. I have several questions about it. Looking for any thoughts on it and specifically on these points. 1. mobo-I not sure the P8P67 deluxe I have now is the best chose. I was also looking at the P8z68-V Pro or P8P67-M Pro. I don't know enough about them 2. RAM- I put the DS here but was looking at the Corsair for +$17 3. PS- I want 1000W but not sure of the one I should get. 4. GPU- I have the 570 1.2GB but was looking at getting the 570 2.5GB 5. Cooling- I want Air but not sure the best way to go here. Your build looks good. You could go for an OC 1 or 2 if you want. I can't comment on the rest of it, not enough exp.
For $300 this is the monitor I have http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=320-9270 |

the monitor firestorm listed is the one we like, but never buy it at full price, it keeps going on sale for $270/$250, so buy it when it goes on sale.
1. deluxe is great. 2. ram is all realy the same at the end so go with DS. 3. for psu you want corsair, 5 year warranty, good performance/reliability, it gives you dual sli whatever you want so its great and you can't do tri sli anyways on this platform. 4. if you are thinking dual monitor gaming down the line go with 570 2.5GB version. 5. the a70 is great but if you want a little less noise then the noctua is the way to go, the other options are louder then these. Your build looks solid, just change gpu to 2.5GB version, cpu cooler to noctua, oc to stage 2. if budget allows you should add a storage drive unless you have one already(internal/external). |

Thanks both of you for the advice. DST4ME I like your changes and plan to go with them, thanks. I do have 2 storage drives I will add when I get my new computer. I see you suggested to others in this forum to adding a fan to the top of their case. Should I be looking at doing this or should not worry about heat? |

Heat is not an issue but another 200mm fan on top sucking the rising hot air is always welcomed
You should add the other fan, the reason you don't see me recommending one anymore is because stupid arse CM has all of a sudden stopped offering those fans, so now I can't find any anywhere to recommend, and I have not found any comparables (same noise/airflow), so I left wanting to tell you to add a fan on top but I have no fan to tell you to put up there , but its not a huge/big deal, it does tick me off tho that CM would not offer their own oem fans, so people with haf x can use their case to its full potential when it comes to air flow.
