Budget:
[Please Type Here]
2000-3000 USD - Base PC. (Removed the idea of a 4K monitor for now.)
Expectations:
[Please Type Here]
Play any current and Future MMO's and the lone FPS Titanfall for the next 3 or 4 years on Ultra Settings 2500x1600 (I own a 30' Monitor).

Usage:
[Please Type Here]
Just MMO gaming and the rare FPS. Most FPS's I play on console.

Special Needs:
[Please Type Here]
I like quiet PC's so Chose the Slade, But I don't know if changing it to Air cooled Versus water will make a large difference. I could change to the Enix if having a Air Cooled Slade is very inefficient. I don't want to get water cooled, because I don't want to replace the water / Perform Maintenance, and I don't have any experience with it yet.

- Single GTX 780 because MMO's support SLI, but DO NOT take advantage of the extra processing, so for me SLI would be a waste, unless its required for the Asus 4K Gaming 31 inch PQ321Q Monitor.
- 480GB SSD for the Main HD, because I want all the games I play to benefit from it.
- 8GM of Ram, Not sure If I really need more than that ? If someone can provide a compelling reason/instance of where I could benefit from it, I will upgrade it to 16 :)
- PC will be on the floor next to my old Digital storm PC, VERY DUSTY area lol.

Thank you Very much in Advance, for any recommendations or Concerns brought up :)

Hi thedog....  That's a good build .  I would however, if the budget allows, go with the newer 780Ti card.  Your monitor could use it.

The Noctua d14 won't fit in the 550D the last I heard.  If it won't then the Hyper 212 will get the job done or go with the H60 or H80 liquid coolers.  The H series liquid coolers are sealed units with no maintenance at all.  The Hyper air cooler is tops in dependability but the H coolers are smaller and have a good reputation.

The 780 ACX card is a real nice card but its dual fans will dump a lot of its heat into the case, where the reference type card with single fan exits the heat out the back of the case.  The 550D being a closed up case, both side and top, might struggle a bit getting the heat out.  You could ask DS how the ACX coolers work with the 550D case.  They will give you an honest answer.

The psu I would change to the EVGA 750 SuperNova.  It is a bit more but does have a longer warranty and is fully modular, meaning if you ever need to swap it, the wiring stays put since it unplugs from the power supply.

8Gb ram is all you need for gaming.  I'm sure in time more ram will be more utilized, but it is easily added if needed in a couple of years.

Change your HDD to the Western Digital Caviar Black.  For another $19 you get a better drive.

Hope this helps and good luck. Big%20Smile

Not sure if I missed it or you added the info with the Edit, but 4K gaming will probably take a tri-sli, 3X high end card or better for decent frames.  I haven't done much looking into it, but that seems to be the way its going.
Here's a link that might help.

Thanks for the comprehensive reply Bpratt. yeah I updated my post, but See now that 4K is amazing, but would cost 5,000 or more just to get started :).

I will review the recommendations you made, and most likely go with them. Thank you very much :)

Running a 4k display is the equivalent of running x4 1080p displays (2160x3840 or 8.3 million pixels). Your current monitor (2560x1600) is only 4.1 million pixels - about half. So plan your build accordingly!! It seems many articles state that a single 780ti will run the 4k display but I would look at probably running 2 of them to keep the fps up on some more visually demanding games. A single 780ti should run your current display very well and you could always add a second one later along with a 4k display if you chose to drop another $4k+ in the future...

Windows 8.1 will also help on fps on newer games such as BF4 (10-40% increase). And it will only get better going forward with DirectX 11.1 & 11.2.
