Howdy all,

I'm looking at getting a new computer from here soon. My budget is about $2,500 before tax. Quick question, when building a ticket is the price shown with or with out tax included? Anyways, I would like to build something that will be usefull for a good while with minimal or no upgrades needed. I primarily use my computer for gaming. Oblivion, Crysis, GTA4, L4d, Fallout 3 and Battlefield 2 are just to name a few.

I prefer Nvidia to ATI and will want both XP and Vista on it also I have a monitor already but wouldn't mind tacking one on if I had room, other than that I'm not really sure what parts to go with. This is my first time doing this. All my previous computers are store bought. So I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thank you very much. :) Got a couple of questions though. Will the dual video cards make that much of a difference? By the way it looks, if I went with one 280 card, I'd only lose 23 FPS. Or do the two dual cards take extra load off the processor? Also with overclocking the processor, does that effectively make it a higher GHz? Will the 2.66GHz for example, run like it's say a 3.66GHz or something? Not really sure how that works. Anyway, thanks again and sorry for the possibly stupid questions.

yes that is how OC works, your 2.66 will be oced to run around 3.8GHz.

the dual cards will handle your graphic needs at that resolution with much ease.

the 295gtx just cameout, its a dual card if you will so one of those can do the same as 2 x 280 or 2 x 260 gtx.

Tweaked it up a bit and was hoping you could double check it. Not sure if I need to up the power supply now that I got the 295 card or not. Also with RAM, am I better off with the 1333MHz high performance or the 1600MHz?

The 1333 should suffice, I belive with a 920 anything higher would just be headroom for a very agressive OC.

Your power supply should be sufficient enough to run a single gtx 295, but would def not be able to handle another if you decided to upgrade in the future.

Thanks again for the help, both of you. I take it I won't need the zalman fans? Figured I might, to help keep it extra cool in there. As for the sound card, is the Razer not worth it? Or would I be better off getting it somewhere else and doing it myself? Anyways, thanks again. Can't wait to get my tax return so I can order this baby. lol. Oh, by the way, would it be worth it to get the windows boost?

all that is worth it, I picked for you, the rest is not.

we can help you tweak your windows, when you get the PC drop a thread in the software section and we will disable some of the annoying stuff for you.

you can get the sound card yourself for better price then do so, but our sound guru recommends asus xonar, just FYI.

be sure to come back and lets do another config for you when you are ready to buy, as you see prices change pretty quick

Well looks like I will be buying Wednesday or Thursday. My top budget limit is $2750 now, though I'd like to keep as under as possible. Any further changes or suggestions?
