Are you planning to add a second 88GTX later on? Otherwise you could probably get by with a slightly smaller Power supply. Then again thermoelectric cooling does take quite a decent amount of power.

Other then that I dont see any real problems with that build.  Though you might find yourself running out of hard drive space pretty quick with just a raptor.

unless your completely attached to the liquid cooling that seems like a huge waste of money, air cooled stage 3 will do it, and you probably dont need 1000W PSU with just a core 2 duo, 2gb ram, and only 1 8800.

Air cooled on a 750i though isnt that great....even with stage 3. Itd be decent, but not great. Itd be very close to see if he could break 4Ghz on a 8400 with air cooling in that case.

possibly, but thats a lot of $ to be betting on getting a decent OC, seems like the system is relying on a great overclock, which is quite a gamble

can you post a link =(

if overclocking is your thing i would suggest a 6600 over that chip, they OC very well and would be a lot more on - par with the performance of your case and psu; it would help us a lot to know what your using it for (which type of game) how big your display is and what the price range is

i wouldnt get an 8800gtx either, the card was great but its reign is over, not worth near the cost imo

Wow thanks for the info and yes I am adding a 2nd 8800GTX it's currently in my pc that I'm using now. That's the reason why I'm shooting for a 1000W p/s. I'm going for the liquid chilled cpu because I'm looking to O/C the chip as much as possible. Thanks again for all the info it really did help!!! Thanks!!!

If you are going to  have two 8800 GTX's in there I would look at a better case.

I have the 750 and it does fine with my 6850 running at stock and a 8800 GTS512. But an overclock and dual GTX's seems like way too much heat for that case to be able to flush out.

This is a good company, so far, in my opinion.  Great support on the phone too.  (I NEVER e-mail.  Why?  I can call)

By the way, if you get the voice mail saying the lines are busy, just keep calling, After 4-5 times you get through.

Hope you purchase a good PC from DSO!

id say 2 9800gtx in sli or a gx2 really, while the benchmarks may show the 8800gtx higher at the present time, i feel we will soon see that change

realistically, the margin for liquid cooling is very much a gamble, like i said. getting a 850i case and stage 3 cooling will get you within 3-8% of the amount that you could overclock (especially with a 6600 G0)
so, the way i look at it, you would be paying more for a chip that will last less time and show little to NO difference in any real-world situation.

by this i mean playing games like an fps or rts (real-world) vs scores on a pcmark or 3dmark run (benchmarks)

furthermore, with a 22 inch monitor, you dont need nor would you get much benefit from SLI
