Budget:
[1,600 - 1,800] Expectations: [To be able to play modern games without issue in framerate and heat, 1 monitor] Usage: [Occasional Video editing, image manipulation, gaming] Special Needs: [Going to be in my room (The basement) and it will be in a somewhat cool area. It will also be on a carpeted floor, unless I prop it up on an object (Putting it on my desk isn't currently an option)] Saved Ticket #: [580757] Specifications: [ Chassis Model: Special Deal Hot Seller - Cooler Master CM 690 II AdvancedExterior Finish: - Standard Factory FinishTrim Accents: - Standard Factory FinishProcessor: Intel Core i7 2600K 3.40GHz (Unlocked CPU for Extreme Overclocking) (Quad Core)Motherboard: ASUS P8P67 (Intel P67 Chipset) (New B3 Revision) (Does Not Support SLI)System Memory: 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Digital Storm Certified Performance Series (Highly Recommended) (Hand Tested)Power Supply: 750W Digital Storm Certified (Dual SLI Compatible) (Silent Edition Recommended)Expansion Bay: - No ThanksHard Drive Set 1: Operating System: 1x (1TB Hitachi/Seagate (7200 RPM) (32MB Cache)Set 1 Raid Options: - No ThanksHard Drive Set 2: Multimedia\Data: - No ThanksHard Drive Set 3: Backup\Misc.: - No ThanksOptical Drive 1: DVD-R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 24x / CD-Writer 48x)Optical Drive 2: - No ThanksInternet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections)Video Card: 1x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 1.2GB (Includes PhysX Technology)Add-on Card: - No ThanksSound Card: Integrated Motherboard AudioExtreme Cooling: AIR: Stage 2: Corsair A70 Dual 120mm Fans High Performance CoolerH20 Tube Color:- Not Applicable, I do not have a FrostChill or Sub-Zero LCS Cooling System SelectedChassis Airflow: Standard Factory Chassis FansInternal Lighting: - No ThanksEnhancements: - No ThanksChassis Mods: - No ThanksNoise Reduction: - No ThanksBoost Processor: FREE: Overclock the processor between 3.3GHz to 3.9GHzBoost Video Card: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my video card(s)Boost Memory: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my memoryBoost OS: - No Thanks, Please do not tweak the services on the operating systemWindows OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-Bit Edition)Recovery Tools: Windows Recovery Toolkit (Bundled with Windows 7 CD)Virus Protection: - No ThanksOffice: - No ThanksBenchmarking: - No ThanksInstall/Test Game: - No ThanksDisplay: - No ThanksSurge Shield: - No ThanksSpeakers: - No ThanksKeyboard: - No ThanksMouse: - No ThanksExternal Storage: - No ThanksExclusive T-Shirt: FREE: Digital Storm T-Shirt - Black (Large)Priority Build: - No Thanks, Ship Within 5-15 Business Days After Order Is Successfully ProcessedWarranty: Life-time Expert Customer Care with 3 Year Limited Warranty ] (Not sure on how to make that look pretty) I bought my xm15 back in February, and am VERY pleased with it. I play my games, watch videos, and do many types of editing on it. I feel that I should get a desktop because I need a workstation that is powerful, stationary, and cold. I really don't care about sound (jet engine is fine, it lets me know it's cold :P) My laptop would then be re-purposed into what it is supposed to be, portable, not sitting on my desk 24/7. Any thoughts about the build is appreciated. I am looking to buying it around thanksgiving into Christmas, as I will be moving around that time as well. Thanks, AustinHiggs |

What res you gaming at?
change your psu to 750w corsair HX, change your oc to stage 1, rest looks good, if you can, I would change the case to haf 932, it has great airflow. |

I like the HAF series, but the lack of dust filters would be a problem. The 690II has them already. Just something else I don't have to do. (I really don't know ATM, I need to look at more reviews :X)
Will I have to upgrade the CPU cooler further if I get the higher overclock? The motherboard doesn't support SLI, but I was planning on just getting a new card when the time comes, as 1 new card is better than 2 old. |
