Once a week or so I remove the slide out screen from the bottom rear of the case under the PS and the screen from in front of the intake fans and vacuum those. Once every month or two I remove all the glass panels, screens, etc. and clean everything outside with a blower similar to the one Nomad1970 posted taking care to blow out the AIO really well.

I love my little datavac duster.. they're invaluable if you wish to keep your system dust free. One word of caution, though, these little datavacs can move a lot of air in a very small space. If you have to blow directly onto a fan blade, be certain that you're holding the blade and not letting the fan 'free-wheel' at that high-speed. The bearings in most fans aren't tough enough to take that kind of punishment.

Also, and it almost goes without saying with this group, but there's always one like me who tends to forget, be certain you're grounded and have discharged all static electricity before you go rooting around in your case.

I cleaned my 8 year old DS system once a month, religiously, both hardware and software, for the first 5 years and, other that it being a Digital Storm machine, that's one thing I say is the reason it has lasted this long. Keep 'em clean. (Now at 8 years it is more a 'as needed' basis...)

You can set fan profiles in your BIOS. Do some research for your usage, then experiment.

I can't say I'd recommend pulling parts in and out of your case. I've never had difficulty getting to the parts for cleaning with the right equipment. I not only use compressed air, but also a vacuum attachment kit. The actual vacuum doesn't get anywhere near the computer.

Carpet?! put that bad boy on the desk so you can look at it every day!

Seriously, though, if you maintain a good cleaning schedule it should be fine. Same with animals and their fur/dander. Make it a point to know where each filter is and how to clean them, along with various and sundry other points of entry for dust and dustmites. Unless you're running a Class 10 (ISO 4) or better clean room you're going to have stuff getting into the machinery. All you can do is keep it as clean as you can.

don't try to take apart the fans.  you CAN remove the fans from radiators and case fan mounts easily enough with a Philips head screw driver-just 4 easy corner screws, but be careful not to cross thread when screwing them back in (especially on radiators).
