Hello all! I got some case fans for my Lynx and one of the top fans is just barely touching (almost perfect fit) the part called "Dr. mos." I attached a link to the photo.
I tested under peak temperatures and it was barely warm but not burning hot. The board is an Asus X570-Pro and fan is a Cooler Master MF120 Halo. Will it be ok or too risky? Suggestions or past experiences. thx!!! Board Photo |

Looks like more clearance than you describe. That structure at the bottom of the arrow is a heat sink to spread and dissipate heat. That you have a fan nearby is a good thing.

I was expecting significantly less clearance based on your description. It will be fine.

Sorry folks, I should explain better. That line hight IS the hight of the fan itself. The fan will lay right on it. Clearance measurement is gonna be about 1/16 of an inch. Just making sure so I don’t start a fire lol. Sorry for the confusion. Thnk you! |

Ended up installing it and just monitoring it long term to see if there’s signs of burn marks. Thanks!!

I see what you're saying. The fan itself generates little heat, and the heat sink it's almost resting on is dissipating heat all around. Again, I think having a fan right there is safe and helpful. Do keep an eye on it, though.
