Hello Everyone! This company looks excellent from all my forum peeping and constant visits for over a year.  I finally have clearance from the wife to get a new comp.  I want to make sure I get the most for my money and invest in the right components.

Current system built in 2002 by a competitor.  p4 2.6 ghz with 500 mb rdram and radeon 9800 pro.  great sys back then and still ok today.  It just can't handle all of the photo work.  This thing still runs like a champ! I have never replaced a single part on it!

I want this computer to last as long as the other one.

Budget: 2000 with some wiggle room

Display: going to wait, but will get a 24 inch sam t260 also have a 42 inch Mits plasma w/ hdmi.

USE:

1. Just got into dslr photography and have a ton of pics to manage - they are 14 mb in size.  I want to be able to organize and someday edit them.  Looking for this thing to blast through stuff. i.e. uploading pics to galleries

2. Going to order an hd video cam.  I want to be able to manage and edit video without any trouble.

3. Games: don't have any good ones anymore.  I have a ps3 and play cod mod war 2 and 1; that is it.  I would like to have a machine be able to run the latest games and potentially run them on my 42 inch Mits plasma w/ hdmi.  I want to be impressed say i decide to run crysis at high settings.

Summary:

Overall i want this thing to do all of those things very well and especially the first 2.  I have been going back and forth on this or some version of Imac w/ i7 or mac pro desktop w/ basic setup.  Please tell me why a DS pc would be better?
