For malware, why anyone would use anything other than Malwarebytes and CCleaner is beyond my comprehension.

Malwarebytes works great. CCleaner is an absolute must have. I back them up with Super Anti-Spyware. That's been my preference for nearly 20 years, and I've never had an issue.

~THAT~ was the other one! I had SAS there for the longest time, too.... there was an issue the last time I used it that made me stop using it.... I'll see when I get to my machine if I can replicate it.

Another vote for Malwarebytes and Ccleaner.   Free versions that I manually run regularly.

CCleaner just works....I have used it on all my PCs for about 15 yrs...
Have not needed a malware program as I have run with Norton 360 forever !

CCleaner Pro along with Bit Defender for me. Malwarebytes is legit as well.

MalwareBytes and C cleaner are the best. But, I always make sure that i've updated them with all the updates.
And it's necessary that you aid them with anti-spyware softwares. You know, just in case.
Peace
