The eVGA brand is what I would go for personally. You can take part in there step-up program. http://www.evga.com/stepup/default.asp

  • What are your thoughts on 2 of those cards in SLI?

Reading reviews on newegg, say it is really big so not sure if you could SLI due to size. may want to follow up.

  • If you were to do an SLI setup, what MOBO would you recommend for someone with not a lot of change in their wallet.($200 or less)

I would drop the extra cash and get a up to date MOBO, so you can use all the newer technology if you want later without having to upgrade MOBO again. I would check into the 750, 780, 790i.

  • Which would you choose for an all purpose monitor( a 24" ACER widescreen monitor for $389.99 or a 28" Hanns-G widescreen monitor for $489.99)(newegg.com)

If you have the money get the larger widescreen :)

  • Is a 28" monitor too big?

I will be using my 37' HDTV with an SLI 9800GTX, may get the 280GTX card later. SLI would be good for bigger, higher resolution setups.

  • When dealing with RAM, I like The Kingston HyperX Memory, is it really good or should i go with the reputable Corsair?(at least 4GB)

Either is good, but I like Corsair personally. With that newer MOBO, 790i it only uses DDR3 memory so keep that in mind.

PCI-E 2.0 (x32) and PCI-E 1.1 (x16) are compatible with each other.

What are your thoughts on the PALit 8800GT Sonic 1GB GPU ($150 on newegg with rebate)
Never had any experience with their warranty or RMA process but $149 for dual slot cooled 8800GT is an awesome deal.

What are your thoughts on 2 of those cards in SLI?
They're good.

If you were to do an SLI setup, what MOBO would you recommend for someone with not a lot of change in their wallet.($200 or less)
I'd go for a 750i since you are on a budget and most 780i boards are over $200.

Which would you choose for an all purpose monitor( a 24" ACER widescreen monitor for $389.99 or a 28" Hanns-G widescreen monitor for $489.99)(newegg.com)
If I had to pick between the two, I would get the Hanns-G.

Is a 28" monitor too big?
Depends on your desk... if you watch movies or television a lot, it's a good size but for daily use and certain games, it's going to be huge!

When dealing with RAM, I like The Kingston HyperX Memory, is it really good or should i go with the reputable Corsair?(at least 4GB)
When picking RAM, it mainly comes down to price and brand loyalties since there are tons of reputable names out there. Mushkin, Crucial, and GSkill are my personal favourites.
