first of all you got some problems there.
1. why are you picking cpu cooling if you are not picking the oc option? if no oc then there is no need for cpu cooling. 2. Asetek is a waste of your money, you will get the same results with Noctua NH-U12P, if you want LC then go frostbite or don't waste your money. 3. for resolution of 1600 x 1200, a 4870x2 is over kill, a 275 gtx will let you max out with 4x aa and 16x af. 4. what is the os you are going to use? let me give you a better system: Liquid cooled: Here you go Ticket# 305456 --- Price: $2188 (To see this build click here) Price after current promotion $1988 Copy of Specifications: Chassis Model: Cooler Master HAF 932 Exterior Finish: - I just got my new DS system a week ago and i have a single GTX 275 in it and it rinds left for dead and COD4 all on the highest settings, and in COD4 on highest settings a 1680 x 1050 rez i was getting 91 fps. so a 275 is pretty good.

spending extra money now to be covered in the future is a bad idea, as the future games are gonna need more power, and cards are gonna need be much more powerful, its better to just get what you need now and in the future, get a future GPU that will kick what ever GPU that is out now's ass. but if you are not planing to upgrade your monitor then yes to a certain extent the 4870x2 will help you out in the future, but remember in games that don't support sli/crossfire, the 4870x2 will not help you a bit. Vista 64 bit. Wouldnt want Ultimate because it takes up too much extra space. and im providing the software myself. I also realised that the price difference between the gtx 275 and 4870 x2 isnt really that much, only 20 bucks so id say the 4870x2 is a better buy.

well if you click on my config and change the 275 GTX to 4870x2 the price difference is like $110. OH I think I see your mistake you are looking at the 1792MB version of the 275 vs 4870x2, there is no need for the 1792MB version, the 896MB version can run 4x AA 16x AF, 8x AA, 16x AF, the difference between the 2 version is like 2 fps which you won't notice the difference of.
