Hey DS fam,
Just wondering if my Maximus XII hero will support thunderbolt 3 and if so how would i go about connecting my Thunderbolt cable. I see the board has a thunderbolt header? Confused on what this means. Thanks for the help!

Hey Bama,

You want to get yourself one of these bad boys:

THUNDERBOLTEX 3-TR from ASUS

It's a thunderbolt expansion card that is inserted into a PCI-e slot, then using the included cable to connect to the onboard thunderbolt header.

Thanks for the reply! I actually ended up switching it out for the Asus pro art model that has 2 thunderbolt 3 slots built in..Also added a wifi adapter. My business partner is a Mac guy so this allows us to work together easier.
My question is...will this board hender any gaming performance? I don’t really overclock a bunch. Just want to game 1440p after work at high frames. I’m assuming I’m still good 2 go. Thanks again
