Mediocre FPS on new system

I just received my vanquish 3 level 2 last week, and it's absolutely amazing. I've been playing a bit of WoW which I have absolutely zero problems with, I get 100+ FPS in most areas. However, the Wictcher 3, the game that had shipped with the rig cannot run the game on max settings, even on high settings with shadow quality down to medium I am only getting 30-40 FPS in most areas. Is this fairly normal for the pre built systems? I am using the nvidia software that detects in game FPS currently.

I think the Vanquish 3 Level 2 comes prebuilt with the GTX 960 2GB right? I don't really think that the GTX 960 is that strong of a card and shouldn't really be able to handle Witcher 3 on high-ultra qualities at a high FPS. Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm new here.

That is normal for the Witcher 3.  The gtx 960 can run it but not on the higher settings and stay close to 60fps.  Very demanding game.     

I have run it on a gtx 970, which is 40-50% faster than the 960, and some settings like Hair Works I have off and others like shadow and grass set to High  to stay in the 50-60 fps area.  Most on Ultra. 

This is on a 1920x1080 resolution.

Yeah that is normal for your Graphics card. The witcher 3 right now is I think the most demanding game out right now hence the so many benchmarks for it

Having the Vanquish 2, I have the 770... It's running Witcher 3, but it does break a sweat. 60fps? Not consistently and I have the hair works, etc, turned off as well.

So, yea... the game is very very demanding.
