Are they a good invesment? There not expensive $20 to $40 depending on model. And will most for all types of memory?

Again, I am not an expert, but my rule of thumb is usually this:
If its not broke or an issue, don't change it. Basically unless you are having an issue with excessive heat temps, I'd just leave it all alone and save yourself the money to use elsewhere....or on a good case of beer. I try to refrain from screwing with a perfectly sound system.......unless its not mine, then all bets are off. |

Ya they will work for most memories, its nice to have but will not make a big difference that you would notice.

Like the others have said, it won't help out really. when building new systems I always touch all of the components make sure none of them are hot, so if the RAM under load feels hot, or burns my fingers, I add a fan, or RAM fan, something to keep it cooler. RAM usually will overclock slightly more with cooler temps, and all electronics will last longer if they are not burning hot. So it most likely will have no effect on your system, and make it a tad louder. so save the money..
