How much would down clocking my RAM hinder performance going from 1333mhz (timings 9-9-9-24) to 1116mhz if I wanted to go to a higher OC and needed to lower the ratio? (Going from 166 to 186 FSB). Also, if it is OK to downclock the RAM should I tighten the timings? Say from 9 to 8's?

If it was me, I would first see how far I could overclock the RAM.. It is possible that the RAM may overclock to 1488Mhz.. If is doesn't, then I would leave it as is, or buy 1600 Mhz RAM.. I did some testing a while back, and 1333Mhz RAM did overall bottleneck a overclocked i7 a small bit, very small, but 1066, really bottleneck it. so I would try to keep it t 1333 or higher. |

Thanks Justin then my 3.4 overclock with 166 bus speed is the perfect overclock for me right now. I actually may buy 6gb 1600 kit soon when I get my overtime check
