I am a bit confused about the memory times, CPU-Z says my FSB:DRAM ratio is 5:8, is it best to have 1:1?
Right now my memory settings are 5-5-5-15-2T, is this the standard spec for this type of RAM?
Thx

Your current FSB:RAM ratio actually translates to 5:4. that sounds like the stock speed of the RAM to me, assuming your FSB is set to 1333, and your CPU multiplier is at 10x. That ratio is *very good*. Anything past 2:1 absolutely fine. Even 2:1 would give you only the mildest of bottleneck issues, noticeable to most users only when running a benchmark program. Your RAM speed is fine.
If you want to know what the RAM's suggested timings are, open CPU-z again and click on the SPD tab, and select a populated RAM slot using the drop down box near the top of the window on the left. You will see suggested timings and voltage levels for your specific RAM. Edited by Tyler Lowe - 22 Mar 2008 at 12:32am |
