If you're wanting to upgrade to 12GB on x58, then you're best bet is to go 3x4GB Sticks, rather than add to the existing 6GB. Filling all the slots can actually degrade performance due to stresses on the memory controller.

As far as ordering new ram, NewEgg and TigerDirect often have really good deals. Heck if you have the Prime membership you can often find the exact same kits for less on Amazon.

Corsair, Mushkin, and Kingston are some of my personal favorite brands.

I live by Newegg myself, but Amazon has some pretty competitive prices too.

I'd add Patriot memory to the list, esp if you need some lower-profile sticks, though Mushkin and Kingston have similar designs.

Like said above, Corsair and Mushkin are great brands. I use mostly Newegg but since CompUSA merged with Tigerdirect the service has gotten quite a bit better. Prices are still great as well.
