I have 4 gb (2 x 2gb) in a dual channel board (xfx nForce 790i Ultra).   What is the best solution?  Add 2 x 2gbs (All 4 slots full) or ditch that ram and get 2 4 gb sticks?
I have heard that you can loose the dual channel speed by filling all 4 slots.
Thanks

2 x 4GB is best option, at teh end of the day your ram does not make a noticeable difference in performance, you are fine either way, but you would be perfectly fine with 4 x 2gb also, I don't remember the details about that mobo to be honest, but no matter what 2 slots or 4 slots, you won't notice any performance difference.

Thanks for the info.  I have just heard so much about dual channel and all I did not want to add more memory and slow it down in the process.  Thanks.
