Hi all,

I am looking to upgrade my older computer and believe I am going with DS
My question is I am on a budget and have about $1500 to spend. I play mostly
online games such as Aion, EQ2, Cod2, left for dead exc. I am looking for a
computer that will not only play these games but ones that come out in the next
year or so. Will this fit the bill? I also need to reduce the amount of "lag"
on online games when spaces get smaller, alot of people around and are graphics intense.
Any help would be helpfull.

PS I play on a 22 inch monitor and normally play on 1280x1200 but would like to play
on higher res if possible.

everything looks okay, and for that graphics card you want, you could play @ 1920x1080 for most games. For your budget, id say your okay for a couple months, but you might want to consider upgrading the graphics card in the near future.

the 275 will do games in 1600 x 1200 at higherst setttings but not 1900 x 1200. also the 275 does not support dx11, so its not future proof as far as that goes, plus in dx10 games the ati will do better also.

i7 is pretty future-proof whereas the i5 will be obsolete soon. the x55 motherboard will not be able to upgrade to its full potenetial unlike the x58 motherboard.

as mentioned you can upgrade the cpu, so in a few years he can buy the 6 core for dirt cheap and have a 6 core cpu, instead of buying a new pc.

@Raif, my commend of res was toward the 275, the 5850 can do a great job with a bit of oc.
