i ordered my first digital storm 8 years ago, can't even rember which one it is. But today it is still going strong, i did, talking with my husband yesterday i told him how my pc is 8 years old now, and i can't believe it has held up that long previous pc from other places lasted 1 to 3 years at best.
Talked about mayb making a few upgrades, he said just go back to digital storm and order yourself a new one as my Christmas present for you.. :) So i did, i just finished placing an order for the Lumos lvl 3. upgraded the memory and mobo. I cant wait until it processes and gets through all of it's stages and gets here, hoping it holds up as well as my last one |

Misy,
I just upgraded my 12 year old Digital Storm system. Only had to replace 2 fans as repairs in all these years. I am looking forward to my new one arriving some day. At least we will be new & fresh and be able to run Windows 11. I hope Win 11 is worth the grief people have to go through to get it to run on systems more than a few years old. |

Not sure if i am going to upgrade to 11 as soon as it finally gets here or wait a little bit, i hear good and bad, but maybe the bugs will worked out by the time we get our new rigs |

Congratulations and welcome back. I would, if budget allows, call them and change the Storage Set 1 to a NVM Express drive. The DS one is a SATA drive and slower. The m.2 is just a form factor (size). You will boot up much faster. Enjoy. |

Keep us posted as to how it goes. I just noticed that you also have the Corsair Commander PRO but Cooler Master fans. I don't think they work together ( someone might clarify here, hint hint ) and might be worth checking when and if you call DS. |

these were the only other fans they had as an option, stock or these, one day I will put Corsair in, after my husband gets over his stroke of what I have just spent, so I didn't get to do all the upgrades I wanted.. I will already have the switch at any rate, I know nothing of building or most parts) I wanted the rtx 3080 or 3090 but the added price he turned white lol, I also wanted to liquid cool it, for the aesthetics mostly, and where I live it gets very humid hot in the summers , I don't overclock, and to liquid cool I would have had to upgrade the gpu but that is unaffordable right now. I like the way the hard lines look in the cases. this is also something I have never had is liquid cooling so maybe by my next one, and a lot of learning the how to change and when to change the coolant. if it is incompatible I had thought they would call me, so I thank you for the advice and will give them a phone call to ask. I really do appreciate any/ all advise , I am just starting to learn the innards of a pc. |

I'm not positive about this, but I think the Corsair Commander Pro should work with most fans. For example, I'm using mine with Noctua fans. It works great.
I don't know much about the Cooler Master fans that DS is using. It says they are remote controlled. If the remote can be used to adjust fan speed, then I could see how there might be a conflict. For example, which device would control the speed: The remote, or the Commander Pro? I'm not sure. However, if the remote is only used for changing the RGB colors, then there shouldn't be a problem. Either way, I'm sure DS will alert you if there is an incompatibility. |

My new Lumos came in today. It is Beautiful. I can not tho figure out how to turn the led light strips on, fan lights aren't working, and the remote does nothing.. it's probably a switch somewhere that i have no clue about lol. not sure. But it running beautifully.

It's possible that the LED lights are controlled by a remote. Do you see a remote in the box?

Some of the remotes have a bit of a plastic sticker on the battery to save the battery life until needed and needs to be removed... kind of like hearing aid batteries can last on the shelf for years before use.
Check for that... also, there is in my machine, a small rocker switch above the power supply in the back that turns on the LED strip. Hope that helps. Edited by Snaike - 08 Dec 2021 at 8:24pm |

the only other switch by on the back of my pc besides the power on/off is a switch that say zero rpm fan on/off.. no idea what that is, wasn't messing with that. |

I'm guessing the Zero RPM switch will allow your fans to shut off entirely if the temperature is low enough. I think maybe some power supplies have that switch. Anyway, I think you're right to leave that switch alone until you know what it does.
